Teaching & Training
I believe that scientific knowledge becomes more valuable when it is shared. Alongside my research in mycology and fungal biodiversity, I am actively involved in training students, research scholars, teachers, and early-career researchers.
My teaching and training activities focus on developing practical research skills, encouraging scientific thinking, and making modern molecular and computational approaches accessible to learners from diverse academic backgrounds.
Areas of Training
My training interests include:
Fungal diversity, taxonomy, and identification
DNA barcoding and molecular identification
Molecular phylogenetic analysis
DNA sequence analysis and interpretation
Biodiversity research and molecular systematics
Scientific writing, publishing, and research communication
Digital tools for academic and scientific communication
Workshops & Training Programmes
I organise and contribute to hands-on training programmes, workshops, and online learning activities designed to strengthen research skills.
Upcoming Programme
Hands-on Training in Molecular Phylogenetic Analysis
16–20 November 2026
CSIR–National Institute of Oceanography, Regional Centre, Visakhapatnam, India
A five-day practical training programme focusing on molecular phylogenetic analysis, with an emphasis on developing skills relevant to biodiversity and taxonomic research.
Research Mentoring
I enjoy interacting with students and early-career researchers and supporting their development as independent scientists.
My academic mentoring interests include research planning, fungal taxonomy, molecular phylogenetics, DNA barcoding, interpretation of scientific data, and preparation of research manuscripts.
Online Teaching & Science Outreach
Through MycoAsia – Journal of Modern Mycology and other academic initiatives, I participate in online workshops, scientific discussions, and training activities.
These programmes aim to make scientific knowledge and digital skills accessible to students, teachers, and researchers, regardless of their geographical location.
I am also interested in science outreach activities that encourage curiosity, scientific thinking, and engagement with biodiversity research among school students and teachers.
Learning Resources
This section will feature selected teaching presentations, practical tutorials, scientific resources, and useful links related to mycology, molecular phylogenetics, DNA barcoding, and academic communication.
